Student Support Staff are available in the open lab during the hours of operation to assist students with any technical issues they may encounter. Although the lab staff mainly focus on technical issues, they can also provide basic assistance with the use of the applications installed on the computers and with online resources available to students such as Hostos e-mail, Blackboard and online libraries.

By the counter in C-595, Help Desk Staff provides support for students with claiming or resetting passwords for Hostos e-mail, CUNY Portal and CUNYfirst. The Help Desk provides support over the phone for various issues EXCEPT password related inquires/problems to preserve the privacy of students.

About Your Password

Your default password is your initials followed by birth month and birth year in the following format: <first letter of first name (lower case)><first letter of last name (upper case or capitalized)>mmyyyy. Ex: John Doe born in January 2002 has default password jD012002. Once you know your password, don't forget to register for the Self-Service Password Management System so you can reset your password in the event that it expires or is forgotten.
