Areas of Interest:

Gregory Marks is a native of Providence, RI. He graduated with a BA in philosophy from the Thomas More College of Liberal Arts in New Hampshire, and continued his studies in philosophy in Liechtenstein. However, he switched mid-stream to English, and received his MA from the University of Dallas and his PhD from Louisiana State University. Though his dissertation is on American modernism, his interests are broad, and he is now co-editing a collection of essays on apotropaic gestures (signs that ward off evil). He has taught at several colleges, but is now very glad to be living and working in New York City. He lives in Queens with his wife Kathleen (Assistant Professor of English, St. John’s University), and daughter Grace.
