Freshman Applicant

Students who have not previously attended college, university or post-secondary institution since graduating from high school.
You will need to submit the following documents:

  • Official High School transcript in a sealed envelope,
  • High School Diploma or proof of High School equivalency degree with score sheet,
  • A credit or debit card to pay the online application processing fee of $65. 

Your entire secondary school academic history, will be used to determine your grade point average (GPA).

CUNY does not accept diplomas from any non-public correspondence, online or virtual high school.  Students from these schools must successfully complete a high school equivalency examination to be considered for admission to a CUNY college.

Transfer Applicant

You are considered a transfer applicant if you have attended any institution after completing your secondary education. If you attended more than one college/postsecondary school, your GPA will be determined through a combined calculation of all attempted coursework. If you have completed fewer than 30 credits, your high school/secondary school record will be considered as well.
You will need to submit the following documents:
  • Official High School transcript in a sealed envelope,
  • High School Diploma or proof of High School equivalency degree with score sheet,
  • College, University and/or Proprietary School transcript(s) in a sealed envelope,

Students educated outside the United States (Foreign): Students who completed all or part of their education outside the United States and U.S. territories cannot file directly at our Admissions & Recruitment office. Instead, you must apply online via the CUNY Portal at www.cuny.edu/apply
 
Veteran Students
Undergraduate applicants who are Veterans of the United States Military Service, currently on Active Duty or members of the National Guard or Reserves May obtain an application fee waiver by following a few easy steps.  Veterans are exempt from paying the commitment deposit.  For additional details, please contact Mr. Charles Uwa, Veterans Coordinator at 718-319-7955.
 
Direct Admissions applicants, both freshmen and transfers must comply with university testing requirements.
 
Important Note: Additional information may be needed upon review of your Direct Admissions application (i.e. US Passport, Birth Certificate, Certificate of Naturalization, Green Card, I-94 Card, etc.)
