The Office of Community Relations serves an important role outside the classrooms at Hostos Community College by engaging stakeholders and participating in legislative activities as a CUNY Legislative Action Council (CLAC) representative. The Office works on developing and maintaining a broad range of local, national, private and public networks under the leadership and supervision of the Associate Dean for Community Relations. The staff works to support the College’s mission, on both international educational and community issues, while providing information to College administrators on topics that effect the institution. The Office develops and implements community policy issues that represent both the College community and the University. Reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the Community Relations staff works to increase College partnerships and collaborations with area community and social groups, other educators, business institutions, the media, while also assisting to secure funding and favorable legislative provisions and rules on behalf of the College.
