FORMER NY GOVERNOR PATERSON VISITS
CUNY IN THE HEIGHTS

 

On July 28, 2014, former New York Governor David Paterson visited CUNY in the Heights at 5030 Broadway. There, he met new CITH director, Seny Taveras, JD., and interacted with children and staff at the center.

NASA’s Dr. Charles Doug Wingard, Hostos Community College student Sandy Rosas, and Dr. Nieves Angulo, Professor and Coordinator of the
Engineering program in the Mathematics Department at Hostos,
at the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Alabama.
Rosas won second place at the Intern Poster Expo Presentation held
at MSFC this year. Rosas was among 150 students from more than
80 colleges and universities who participated.

On July 17, Hostos Community College played host the Annual Bronx Reentry Community Forum, which examined the challenges and obstacles former prison inmates face after being released.

Peter Mertens, Assistant Dean Division of Hostos’ Division for Continuing Education and Workforce Development, helped to welcome the large crowd, which included parolees, assistance providers, health providers, students, and area residents.
