The Counseling Center provides ongoing personal and academic counseling for students on an individual and group basis. Counseling is provided in a private and supportive environment in which students may focus on academic and career issues, family problems, personal development concerns and other matters of importance to them. Most counselors on the staff are bilingual (English/Spanish). The Counseling Center maintains a close collaborative relationship with instructional faculty, who are a source of many student referrals. Counselors are available to consult with faculty on issues affecting student academic performance and retention.

Common sources of stress in the lives of adults as well as causes for student withdrawal from college are also addressed.
Faculty & Staff Information
Faculty may refer students at any time by calling the Center to arrange an appointment for a student or they may e-mail the Center requesting an appointment for a student. In either case, please provide your course information and office phone number, the student’s name and telephone number and a brief summary of the reason for referral, e.g. Academic, Personal, Other. This form should be completed and sent to the Center even if a phone or e-mail referral is made. A counselor will follow up with you after the first contact with the student.
