    All things science took over Hostos on Nov. 13, as the entire day was dedicated to the discipline on the campus. STEM studies have become a point of emphasis on campus, and the commitment to science, technology, engineering and mathematics was on full display through lectures, research presentations and demonstrations.

  • History Professor Ernest Ialongo Publishes Work on Italian Migration

    Hostos Associate Professor of History and resident expert on Italy Ernest Ialongo has co-authored a fascinating and timely paper on migration in Italy with Teresa Fiore, Associate Professor of Modern Languages at Montclair State University.

    The article penned by the pair serves as an introduction to three other essays they co-edited for the Journal of Modern Italian Studies, which explores migration in a country that had not received as much attention as the rest of Europe.

  • President Gómez Honored by Bronx Borough President During Annual Puerto Rican Heritage Celebration

    On Thursday, November 15, Hostos President David Gómez was honored by Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. at the Puerto Rican Heritage celebration. The Borough President lauded President Gómez’s commitment to the College and the Bronx at the annual event. “I appreciate the fact that he brings a civic-mindedness to being President of Hostos and partnering with the Bronx, not just my office, but so many other institutions—cultural institutions, educational institutions—to make sure that the Bronx is going to be bigger and better than ever,” he said.
