Hostos Associate Professor Olga Steinberg has been selected by the Board of the American Association of Microbiology (ASM) to serve in the “The Leaders Inspiring Networks and Knowledge” (LINK) Steering Committee.

LINK supports emerging scientists through an effective science mentoring community and by expanding minority participation in STEM research. The committee builds strong "LINKs" between research investigators at all career levels: science faculty, early-career scientists, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, trainees, and undergraduate students.

Associate Professor Steinberg’s appointment with the Steering Committee for the ASM-LINK runs from January 1, 2015, through December 31, 2016. Associate Professor Steinberg works in Hostos’ Natural Sciences Department and has been with the College since the fall semester of 2006.

The LINK program is jointly sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the American Society for Microbiology (ASM).
