The latest edition of the “Hostos Review/Revista Hostoniana” will welcome contributing authors on Sept. 25 to the College to participate in a conversation moderated by Prof. Rolando Pérez of Hunter College about writing and publishing in Spanish in the U.S. today.

Titled “Ecos Urbanos:Literatura Contemporánea en Español en Estados Unidos (Urban Echoes: contemporary literature in Spanish in the United States), the work features 26 authors from across the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean, many of whom will read and discuss their work, both in person or remotely. Among the guest authors in attendance will be contributors Pilar Clemente (Chile-U.S.), Dinapiera Di Donato (Venezuela-U.S.), Rosalba Henao (Colombia- U.S.), Lucía Orellana (Ecuador-U.S.), Carolina Rivera Escamilla (El Salvador-U.S.), Mariana Ruiz González Renteria (Mexico-U.S.), and Claudia Salazar (Peru-U.S.).

The roundtable will take place at 5:30 p.m. in room C-391 of Hostos Community College, followed by a reception in Hostos’ A-Atrium. The event is free and open to the public. Discussions will be conducted in Spanish, with simultaneous translation into English.

“Hostos Review/Revista Hostoniana” and the Latin American Writers Institute of Hostos Community College seek to support and disseminate the literary creation of living Latinx and Latin American authors and provide opportunities for publishing and the discussion of topics that are fundamental to contemporary cultural life.
