Eugenio María de Hostos Community College is proud to announce that President Félix V. Matos Rodríguez has been selected to be part of Mayor Bill de Blasio's “Jobs for New Yorkers” task force. Over 25 leaders in both the supply and demand side of workforce development, along with top officials from the administration, compose the task force.

“I am honored to be a member of this task force commissioned to affect and strengthen the city’s workforce,” President Matos Rodríguez said. “Hostos will continue to expand the work we already do with employers and workforce providers, and I praise Mayor de Blasio for streamlining workforce programs and placing a priority on their potential to impact the future of the City of New York.”

Together, the leaders of this new task force will deliver critical feedback on important issues affecting today's workforce. They will place particular emphasis on the growing skills gap, opportunity divide, resource allocation, and suggest recommendations for creating meaningful pipelines to prepare the City’s workforce of tomorrow.

The Jobs for New Yorkers Task Force will present a report in the fall of 2014.
