Facts about CD

Freshman Class Summer 2012

Many community college students are not able to complete their Associate’s degree due to a variety of obstacles whether they be personal or academic. Being a CD student you will be supported to overcome these obstacles by providing academic, personal and financial support to be successful and graduate with an Associate’s degree. Students in all academic majors are eligible for CD. At graduation special program benefits that were received in CD are transferable to all CUNY colleges, and most state universities and private schools. In addition, some state universities have designated Master’s programs where tuition is waived.

All 1st time entering freshmen who apply to Hostos Community College as a CD student must attend the Summer Discover Program. The program begins the summer prior to fall registration and enrollment at Hostos Community College. The Summer Discover Program will give you a jump start on your education and is at no cost to you. You will take one remedial workshop and other workshops that will help you transition to college life. In fact, you will receive a stipend for expenses while attending the SD program. In addition an early registration for fall will be provided. The program is mandatory for all entering CD students.
