What is New York PREP?
New York Prep is an intensive mathematics based pre-college summer enrichment program.
Why sign up?
Explore and prepare for careers in the fields of science, engineering, and mathematics
Who can attend?
Students who will be attending the seventh, eighth or ninth grade in the fall of 1997 and
who have at least a B average in their academic courses.
Who will teach the class?
College professors Military officers Scientists Engineers Mathematicians Master high
school teachers College students will serve as mentors and tutors.
What do you get?

What will you do?

Cost??????
There is no tuition or fees.
New York Prep participants will be eligible to ride buses or the subway at a reduced cost.
Low income students will receive free lunch daily.
How can you apply?
Obtain an application form from your counselor, math teacher, or mail the Interest Replay
Form to the PREP Office. Obtain permission from your parents/ guardian Write a 100-200
word essay on why you wish to attend PREP Submit a copy of your latest report report card
(no transcripts are accepted) Get a recommendation from your math teacher, science
teacher, English teacher or counselor. |
