STUDENTS & GUEST ARRIVAL & ENTRANCE

NOTES FOR STUDENTS:

  • Time:  Students are to report for the ceremony no later than 1:30 p.m. (It is recommended that you arrive around 1:00 pm).
  • Place: New York City Center entrance on 130 West 56th Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues.
  • Wear: Students must wear their cap and gown.  Comfortable shoes are recommended.
  • Notes: Students without robes will not be allowed to march.  There will not be robes available onsite.  Latecomers will NOT march, but they will be allowed to seat in the back of the Center after the Procession and National Anthem have been completed.  There will be a wait of approximately 15-20 minutes before being seated.

NOTES FOR GUESTS:

  • Time:   Doors open for guests at 2:00 pm.
  • Place:  New York City Center entrance on 131 West 55th Street, between 6th & 7th Avenues.
  • Help:   Look for uniformed Hostos Community College Ambassadors on site for assistance.
  • Tickets: No guest will be allowed into commencement ceremony without tickets. Children 2 years and older will need a ticket to enter.

SEATING RULES FOR GUESTS:

  • SEATING IS ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED BASIS.  Every guest must occupy a seat, including children 2 years and older.  Standing on the aisles or by the stage area will not be permitted.
  • USHERS WILL SEAT YOU: Ushers will seat you inside the seating area. If you have a special need, please communicate with the usher.
  • NO HOLDING OF SEATS: Holding of seats for other guests will not be permitted. Every seat must be occupied on a first-come, first-served basis. If you need to sit with family and friends, please arrange to arrive together before being seated.
  • SEATING ONCE THE CEREMONY BEGINS:  Please realize that if your guests arrive after the ceremony begins, seating will pause until the Procession and National Anthem have been completed.  There will be a wait of approximately 15-20 minutes.  Please make sure your guests arrive at least 30-45 minutes before the start of the ceremony.

Due to security concerns, please do not bring large bags or knapsacks.
