COMMENCEMENT CHECKLIST
- Students should view the Spring 2013 Academic Calendar for the last day to apply for the June 2013 graduation.
- If a student has been confirmed a September 2012 or a February 2013 graduate, it is not necessary to re-apply for graduation. Their names will be automatically added to the commencement booklet and forwarded to the Office of Student Activities.
- Prior to applying for graduation, students should see an advisor and view their Student Advisement Degree Audit (HADA). HADA can be accessed through the CUNY Portal Account.
- The list of graduates (September 2012/February 2013 graduates) and prospective graduates (June 2013) will be provided to the Office of Student Activities by Friday, May 24th.
- All students who have applied for graduation are notified by e-mail of their graduation status.
- Students should retain their graduation request copy as proof that they applied for graduation.
- Confirm with the Registrar's office by May 28th if you met the April 12th deadline to participate in the commencement ceremony.
- Commencement Ceremony will be held on Friday, June 7, 2013 at New York City Center located at 131 West 55th St (between 6th & 7th Avenues), New York, NY.
- The ceremony will begin promptly at 3:00 pm. Graduates must report to 130 West 56th Street (between 6th & 7th Avenues) no later than 1:30 pm.
- Guests should arrive by 2:00 pm and go to 131 West 55th St.
- Two (2) tickets per graduate will be given out in person. Children two years or older will need a ticket. If there are additional tickets available, students will be notified at least 3 days before the ceremony. For more information, visit the Office of Student Activities (C-371) or contact the office at (718) 518-6561. Tickets will be distributed starting Wednesday, May 29th.
- All graduating students who are participating in the ceremony must be robed. Visit the Hostos Bookstore (C-Building Lobby) starting Tuesday, May 28th to purchase your cap and gown. The cost of the robe is about $55.00. For more information, visit the Office of Student Activities (C-371) or call (718) 518-6561.
- Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. The ceremony is expected to be three (3) hours long. It is recommended that you eat a meal prior to arrival.
- Due to security concerns, please do not bring large bags or knapsacks.
