This course is designed for those who are interested in learning and receiving commercial vehicle training. Gain the knowledge in tractor trailers, straight box trunks, and buses through step-by-step guidance from our expert trainers. Through lectures and a study guide, review topics such as safety requirements and guidelines to enhance and demonstrate awareness, familiarity of air brakes, operations, and general knowledge of commercial driving. Apply what you learned to the intense hands-on training needed to pass the road exam. Materials covered during road training include safety checks, control operations, and driving skills. This course will make sure you have the proper knowledge of truck inspection, parallel parking skills, gear shifting, vehicle control, signaling, and proper speed control. Under the supervision of licensed road training instructors you will learn how to drive vehicles before your road tests. DMV fees are not covered by your tuition. Requirements include being over 21 years of age, having a NYS valid license, and no major violations, and are able to pass a DOT medical exam. 32 hours in total.
