Basics of Digital Imaging
This class covers the basics of digital imaging and the art of photography. Students will be provided with digital cameras to use during the duration of the class. A highly renowned photographer will guide students through the features and settings of the camera. During the in-class sections of the course, students will become well versed using the cameras and will learn camera presets, aperture, flash compensation, and exposure modes. Using a sophisticated software program, students will learn how to alter their pictures by cropping, retouching, creating adjustment layers, and fine toning images.
Class trips will be scheduled to expose students to various landscapes and elements. Once students are completed with their photographs, students will learn how to upload photos on laptops, convert shots into JPEG and RAW file format, and save them onto thumb drives. There are 4 sessions: 10/30, 11/6, 11/13, 11/20.
