Basics of MIG Welding Application
During the duration of this 3-day course, students will learn about metal inert gases (MIG) welding processes. Students will be provided with OSHA safety regulations handling welding equipment, working with gases, and work in a welding shop. Students must wear appropriate clothing and protective gear during class sessions.. Instructors will cover topics that include how MIG welding equipment works, lead discussions of the gases used, demonstrate various techniques based on metals used, and provide guidance as to producing flawless results. Preliminary demonstrations by the instructors will assist students with learning how to mend metal pieces and students will visually witness the process being done. Once comfortable, students will be given the hands-on experience using the tools to complete in-class activities. This course will provide students with the experience and practice needed to tackle home improvement projects.
