The Arts: Learning Through Drama

Learning Through Drama

Using theatre games as a primary vehicle, students will sharpen their speaking and writing skills and explore creative ways to think and play on their feet! Through challenging, fun and exciting exercises, this class will focus on how to tell a story, create characters and develop plot by playing. Improvisation is a fun, creative way to communicate ideas and to strengthen confidence, literacy, imagination and public speaking skills. We will learn how to act and write through improvisation. The class will be organized like a sports game, with two theatre teams, playing each other by acting out situations and presenting short skits, using suggestions from the class, visual arts and words as a springboard.

Sat 3/1-5/3/08 11:15 to 1:15pm
ACE K135-SP01 18 hrs. 9 sessions $140
