The Arts: Piano

This is a one hour group class that offers children the opportunity to experience and explore music through the piano keyboard. Students will learn the basics of music such as rhythm, time signatures, fundamentals of reading music, and they will also learn how to play simple fivefinger position melodies. This class is designed to get the young beginner student off to the right start. A combination of class activities such as rhythm / flashcard drills, creative work, playing / listening games and ensemble playing will assure steady progress, making it an enjoyable first musical experience.
