organized by the artist Ivan Monforte, responds to the 10 year anniversary of the critically acclaimed exhibition "DL: The Down Low in Contemporary Art," organized by curator Edwin Ramoran at Longwood Art Projects in 2003. The exhibition “Gay,” examines cultural production by self-identified gay male artists of color through painting, photography, video, drawing, and language. All of these artists embrace, interrogate, and re-examine what it means to negotiate identity in both life and in art. The exhibition will include artist commissions, community events, and several special receptions. A catalog of the exhibition will published featuring an interview with Edwin Ramoran, and contributions by Thomas Lax, Adrian Saldaña, and Ivan Monforte.
