Sekou McMiller Dance Company is an innovative New York-based contemporary Afro-Latin dance theater company founded in 2008 by artistic director Sekou McMiller, an internationally acclaimed choreographer whose credits range from off-Broadway, film and television, to performing and choreographing top Latin and pop artists including Madonna. The company fuses Afro Latin dance and music with contemporary, urban, classical and abstract theater dance to create provocative narratives on socialization and the human experience through its invigorating, interactive dance and music performances. As part of the CUNY Dance Initiative, the Company presents a preview of a new work “I am Pulse: Afro Latin Jazz and Soul experience" with a talkback with the artists following.
