JMTW celebrates 42 years of presenting Muller’s visionary approach to dance theater, incorporating the spoken word, live and commissioned music, media and unusual production elements to create multi-discipline productions that illuminate the human spirit. JMTW has electrified world audiences in 39 countries on four continents, circumnavigating the globe from Buenos Aires to Toronto, Hong Kong to Moscow, most recently embarking on a three-city tour of China. They have performed at venues such as Lincoln and Kennedy Centers, The Joyce, City Center and David H. Koch Theaters; Bryant, Battery Festivals and the United Nations. Recent residencies are as far flung as Florida, California, Iowa, Connecticut and Brazil. The Works' annual Faces of Wonder and Imagine That! programs provide much needed arts programming to culturally-underserved youth in the NYC public school system. The company sees its educational outreach initiatives as an integral part of its yearly programming. By providing these programs free-of- charge, the company has been able to reach over 4,000 students annually. The Works can affect the lives of program participants by sharing its optimism, passion, discipline and respect for all cultures in a way that has positive, far-reaching effects, now and in the future.
