Mobile Active Sync SetupAccess your Hostos email from your mobile device!

Get connected with your Hostos email now! In just a few simple steps you can check your Hostos email, calendar and contacts directly from your IOS or Android mobile device without having to log-in through our web page. You can quickly and easily connect with your professors, classmates and receive class status updates.

Tips on Mobile E-mail Use:

  1. Always select your Hostos account as the “From” e-mail address when sending messages to Hostos faculty and staff; e-mails received from non-Hostos e-mail accounts will not be read/responded to
  2. Always use a passcode on your mobile device – this helps prevent unauthorized access to your email and other information
  3. Mobile data can result in high usage very quickly – check with your service provider for plans that best suit your data usage
  4. Setup your device with a tracking solution such as Findmyiphone (for Apple iOS devices) or Where’s My Droid (for Android devices)* in the event that your device is lost or stolen to help you recover it.

Hostos Community College reserves all rights to the operation and provisioning of this service as well as discontinuing/suspending the service and is not obligated to guarantee 24x7x365 availability although best effort will be maintained to ensure the continuity of this service unless technical, legal, financial or policy decisions dictate otherwise.

Syncing of Hostos email, calendar, and contacts is provisioned at no cost for one device via the Good™ for Enterprise application, available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices. To request this service, please submit a Job Request with the Information Technology Department. You will receive an email with more details regarding the Good™ App as well as instructions on how to set up and configure this application on your mobile device.

If you would like to use the Good™ for Enterprise application on a secondary device, there is an additional cost. Review and submit the following agreement to the Information Technology Department.PDF

Open the settings and select Mail, Contacts, Calendars

Enter your Hostos email and password. Provide a description then tap ‘Next’

You will be prompted to enter a passcode

Note: If a passcode is not entered, the mail setup will not work.

Press ‘Save’

Step 8

Enter a ‘New passcode’ then tap ‘Save’. You will then receive another screen to confirm the passcode. Your Hostos email will begin loading shortly.

• Recover Deleted Items (click to hide or show)

Under ‘Accounts’ Select YOUR Hostos account

Select ‘Trash’

Select the message to be restored and select the ‘move’ icon

Select the folder you want to put the message in.  in this case it will be the ‘Inbox’

Open the ‘Mail’ app on your Android phone

Enter your Hostos email address and password. Press ‘Next’

Enter a name for this account. You can name it anything you choose  Press ‘Finish Setup’ once you are done

Press ‘OK’ to accept the Security Policy

Select ‘Activate’. By selecting this option you will be agreeing to the terms listed

To access Hostos email on your mobile device you will be required to have a phone unlock password if you don’t already have one

 

Note: This password will become your device password and will be needed to unlock your device.

Whenever your password changes, you must update the password used in the device as well. This can be done by tapping ‘Menu’ -> ‘Settings’ -> Account Settings.

 

     

 

An unlimited usage data plan is strongly recommended for Mail, Contacts and Calendars Synchronization. Additional data charges may be assessed by your provider.
