Hostos Community Public Folders
PUBLIC FOLDERS FOR HOSTOS COMMUNITY
COMMUNICATIONS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
To facilitate open communications and discussions among faculty and
staff members, and the posting of upcoming events, announcements,
achievements, etc., the IT department has created a Public Folder
within Outlook named “Hostos Community”. All Hostos faculty, staff,
and administrators have access to this folder. Please check this
public folder for message postings since they will no longer be
delivered to your Inbox.
The Hostos Community public folder is maintained by the IT
department and any message older than fourteen (14) days will be
deleted.
Instructions for accessing and utilizing this Outlook Public Folder
are detailed in the following pages.
Please contact the IT department at extension 6636, or extension
6646, if you have any questions regarding these folders.
Accessing Public Folders in Outlook 2003
If the Outlook Public Folders tree is not already visible on the
left-hand side of your Hostos Community College Outlook window,
follow the instructions on the following screenshots to make it
visible and view the contents of the new Hostos Community public
folder.

Sending Emails to the Hostos Community Public Folder
To send an email message directly to the Hostos Community public
folder type hcc@hostos.cuny.edu in the To…field as shown below:

Or you could also select Hostos Community from the Outlook address
book as shown below:

Posting New Items to the Hostos Community Public Folder

Replying to Emails and Posting Directly from the Hostos Community Public Folder
To reply to an email message or posting of interest proceed as
indicated below:

Note: If you decide to change the Outlook view to Mail, Calendar,
Contacts, etc., you will have to follow the previous steps once
again to access the Public Folders view.
Accessing the Hostos Community Public Folder from the Web


Once you open the Hostos Community folder you can proceed as
indicated previously.
