Science Abstracts
General Science Abstracts indexes articles of at least
one column in length from English-language periodicals published in the United
States and Great Britain beginning with 1984. Topics include Astronomy, Biology,

Medicine, Nutrition, and Physics. Abstracting coverage begins with periodicals

The Health Reference Center is available on the World
Wide Web through InfoTrac. This database contains full-text articles on fitness,
pregnancy, medicine, nutrition, diseases, public health, occupational health and
safety, HMOs and related subjects. Coverage begins with 1996. Provides access

Academic Journal Directory of the University of Texas Medical Branch
School of Nursing contains listings for over 400 journals concerning clinical
nursing, nursing education and research, and related health care fields.
A typical entry contains the full name of the journal, its publisher, its
frequency of publication, its intended readership, the types of manuscripts
reviewed, and a statement of purpose for prospective authors. Each journal entry
includes a contact address and many provide links to the official websites of
the journals and publishers.
It
has three navigation methods: Alphabetical Lists, Journals Grouped by Subject,
and Keyword Search. Click on the name of a method to move around in the

ALA | Internet resources for nurses and nursing students
This is an article that presents the best free Internet resources for health professionals and nursing students. The authors are Hostos Library faculty and they have tried to include only the most useful and highest quality resources from among a rich array of choices. The article begins with annotated links to the many U.S. government agency sites that collect and offer health and medical data. There are also non-governmental sites that offer everything from online medical dictionaries and anatomy texts, to Rx guides, medical image collections, and websites with study aids for nursing students.
