Academic Search Complete
A multi-disciplinary full-text database, with more than 7,000 full-text periodicals, including nearly 6,000 peer-reviewed journals. In addition to full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 11,000 journals and a total of more than 11,600 publications including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, etc. The database features PDF content going back as far as 1887, with the majority of full text titles in native (searchable) PDF format. Searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,000 journals.
African-American History Online--Facts on File
African-American History Online provides access to thousands of cross-referenced entries on African-American history. Users can search for entries by keyword or phrase or browse by topic and by time period—from eight historical periods relevant specifically to African-American history. It includes more than 3,700 biographies, entries on topics such as court cases and legislation; key social, literary, and artistic movements; daily life and living conditions; important organizations; themes; and full texts of primary source documents with brief introductions. The Image Gallery includes more than 1,000 historical images with explanatory captions. Learning Centers bring together specially selected entries on different areas of interest to help users find a starting point for their research.

Black Periodicals International Index
IIBP Full Text draws its current content from international scholarly and popular periodicals in Black Studies and contains full-text coverage of core Black Studies periodicals. It covers a wide array of humanities-related disciplines including art, cultural criticism, economics, education, health, history, language and literature, law, philosophy, politics, religion, and sociology, among others.

Book Review Digest
With coverage back to 1983, Book Review Digest Plus indexes reviews of current fiction and non-fiction, and provides review excerpts and over 100,000 full text reviews. Every book in Book Review Digest Plus appears with all of its reviews together. A single book can have as little as one review citation and as much as a descriptive summary and many reviews with excerpts and full text, depending upon the coverage the book received in the reviewing literature. The database includes children’s books as well as books for adults and young adults. Entries currently encompass some 1,300,000 reviews covering over 550,000 books and grows with daily updates.

This database offers full text for over 200 titles and contains citation coverage for hundreds of additional sources in the fields of communication and journalism. In total, several hundred valuable sources are covered.
CQ Researcher
This database from the Congressional Quarterly offers in-depth coverage of today's most important issues. Each report is on a single topic--more than 12,000 words of text and extensive bibliographies. Each weekly issue provides up-to-date information on controversial subjects written by CQ's staff of experienced reporters. The database goes back to 1991 and also affords immediate access to the newest CQ Researcher reports as they are published. Older reports are backfiled, providing a continuously growing archive. The index is available in both PDF and HTML formats. The CQ Researcher covers a wide range of social, economic, political, and environmental issues.

Eighteenth Century Collections Online
Use Eighteenth Century Collections Online to access the digital images of every page of 150,000 books published during the 18th Century. With full-text searching of approximately 26 million pages, the product allows researchers new methods of access to critical information in the fields of history, literature, religion, law, fine arts, science and more. It includes documents in various languages including Spanish, French, and Italian.
Essay and General Literature Index
Essay and General Literature Index is a bibliographic database that cites essays and articles contained in collections of essays and miscellaneous works published in the United States, Great Britain, and Canada. More than 300 volumes are indexed annually. Additionally, more than 20 annuals and serial publications are indexed. Essay and General Literature Index also provides full bibliographic information on collective titles indexed. This electronic journal service provides full text access to more than 400 journals in language and literature, Latin American and Asian studies, political science, history, business, arts and sciences, and other fields in the social sciences and humanities. Journal coverage begins with the first issue of each journal, in some cases going as far back as the 1800s. Current journals are not entered into the database for 1 to 5 years.

LEXIS-NEXIS Academic Universe
LEXIS-NEXIS Academic Universe is a full-text database that provides access to a wide range of news, business, medical, legal and reference information compiled specifically for the research needs of academic institutions. LEXIS-NEXIS may be searched for general, company, industry, legal and government news, company financial information, country and state profiles, biographical information, medical abstracts, law reviews, U.S. code, constitution and court rules, and state legal research. If you use Lexis-Nexis to access the New York Times, it is important to know that the Lexis-Nexis package only covers the New York Times from the 1990s to present. When one wants to access the New York Times earlier than that, you can use Historical New York Times (1851-2001).

Literary Reference Center (LRC) is a comprehensive literary reference database, which provides users with a broad spectrum of reference information from antiquity to the present day. LRC is a completely full-text database that combines information from over 1,000 books and monographs, major literary encyclopedias and reference works, hundreds of literary journals, and unique sources. Its extensive list of publications includes major literary reference works such as Magill’s Literary Annual and Masterplots, as well as Bloom’s Major Novelists and the complete contents of literary magazines such as Grand Street and Ploughshares.

Literature Resource Center and MLA
Covers more than 120,000 novelists, poets, essayists, journalists, and other writers, with in-depth coverage of 2,500 of the most-studied authors. The LCR is built three author databases: Contemporary Authors Online, offering biographical coverage of more than 120,000 writers; Contemporary Literary Criticism Select, featuring entries on all authors appearing in CLC since vol. 95 of the print series and complete profiles of the 266 most studied authors from editions prior to vol. 95; and Dictionary of Literary Biography Online, containing more than 10,000 biocritical essays on authors and their works written by academic scholars. In addition, users can access current, full-text critical essays on major authors via the Literature Resource Center's link to more than 130 prominent literary journals. CUNY has elected to add the Modern Language Association (MLA) International Bibliography citation database to its LRC subscription, providing CUNY researchers with access to 1.4 million citations from the MLA International Bibliography.

MasterFILE Premier

This multidisciplinary database provides full text for more than 1,700 general reference publications with full text information dating as far back as 1975. Covering virtually every subject area of general interest, MasterFILE Premier also includes nearly 500 full text reference books, 84,774 biographies, 100,554 primary source documents, and an Image Collection of 202,164 photos, maps and flags.
MLA International Bibliography
The Modern Language Association (MLA) International Bibliography provides searchable access to more than two million bibliographic citations to journal articles, books, dissertations, and scholarly Web sites. It indexes materials from 1926 to the present in academic disciplines such as language, literature, folklore, linguistics, literary theory and criticism, and the dramatic arts. Coverage includes literature from all over the world — Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North and South America. The MLA currently indexes more than 66,000 new items each year.
