For your stay in New York City, during the Encuentro Hostos y Martí en Nueva York, we recommend the Hotel Deauville, which is moderately priced and centrally located. The hotel is on 29th Street, between Park and Lexington Avenue, a block away from the 28th Street subway station (#6 train) and 35 minutes away from Hostos Community College, where the encuentro will be held. The Deauville is a 10 minute walk from midtown Manhattan and a 20 minute walk from The Village. In the neighborhood there is a good number of restaurants with multi ethnic food at reasonable prices.

Transportation to Hostos by subway:
#6 train uptown at 28th St. Station; change at 42nd St. (Grand Central Station) to the #4 or #5 Express on the same platform, 5 more stops to 149th and Grand Concourse. The Hostos campus will be right in front, on the Grand Concourse, as you exit the station. The activities will take place in the C Building, at 460 Grand Concourse, in the middle of the block. It’s the building next to the outdoor garden, with the pedestrian bridge over the Concourse.
