Monday, June 18, 2012 (The Bronx, NY) – On June 14, 2012, Ana I. García Reyes, Associate Dean for Community Relations at Hostos Community College, was recognized by the Bronx Times Reporter, Inc., as one of the 25 most influential women in the Bronx.  At the third awards ceremony held in Villa Barone Manor, Dean García Reyes and the other honorees were lauded for their exemplary contributions and outstanding service to the community.   

Mr. John Collazzi, publisher of the Bronx Times Reporter, said: “This year’s honorees have energized so many aspects of the Bronx life.  The selection was just as daunting as in the previous year.  We congratulate our honorees and countless other women who contribute to our borough’s well-being.  Each has made the Bronx a better place to live.”

Dean García Reyes expressed her deep appreciation for this recognition:  “It is a great honor to represent Hostos Community College and the community that I have been working with for years at this wonderful forum.  I sincerely thank the Bronx Times for this distinction and the BronxNet for nominating me, as well as my family for their support and vote of confidence.”

Ms. Dolly Martínez, Deputy to the President of Hostos, added: “We thank Bronx Times for recognizing one of the most dedicated and committed member of the Hostos family, Dean Ana Isabel García Reyes.  She makes us all proud, and the Bronx is better for it! “
