January 9, 2013 (Bronx, NY) — The Caimans men’s basketball team has cracked the Top 10 in the NJCAA Division III national rankings.

After an 82-63 win over NJCAA Division 1 Globe Institute of Technology on Saturday, January 5 – the team’s 12th straight - the Caimans landed in the No. 9 spot in the Top 10 on Tuesday, January 8. As of Wednesday, the Caimans are 12-1 overall. Chad Coachman led the Caimans with 24 points, four steals and four assists. Jeremiah Brown had 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Tyree White completed his third double-double of the season putting up 13 points and 10 rebounds. Maverick Hodge dished out six assists for the Caimans.

Saturday’s win kept the Caimans atop the Region XV and the CUNYAC standings.
Hostos men’s basketball head coach Jody King said he was proud of the team’s accomplishments. "It has been a privilege to work with this group of students who have been able to shine as athletes. To be nationally recognized is special and we will look to continue to build upon the winning ways of our program."
