Friday, January 25, 2013 (Bronx, NY) - Hostos Community College women’s basketball player Mecca Norfleet has been named NJCAA Division II Player of the Week honors for January 14-20.
The Caimans freshman put her versatility on display against Borough of Manhattan Community College on January 15, registering 23 points, six rebounds, five assists, and seven steals en route to a 48-46 win. In a 65-58 victory over Nassau Community College four days later, she repeated her 23-point performance and added six assists.
Mecca is currently majoring in Liberal Arts and plans to transfer to a four-year college after graduation. Aside from playing basketball and bonding with her teammates, Mecca also enjoys music.
