THE HOSTOS CIRCLE OF 100 BENEFIT CONCERT
EL TROMBONAZO
Over 150 guests attended El Trombonazo, a benefit concert for the Circle of 100 Fund, which was held in the Art Gallery at Hostos Community College on Saturday, December 5, 2009.

“The concert was sold out and raised more than $10,000 for the Circle of 100 Fund,” said Ramón Rodriguez, Esq., Interim Vice President for Institutional Development.
Circle of 100 supporters and guests at the concert included Paulette Henriquez from the Development Office at Lehman College, and Hostos professors Gerald Meyer, Lewis Levine, Merce Pujol, Sue Dicker, and Henry Lesnick.
Andreina Hiraldo, Hostos Class of 2008, opened the concert with a rendition of the John Lennon classic Imagine.
“The highlight of the evening was the presentation of a $500.00 check to Rochelli Marty by Virginia Paris, co-chair of the Circle of 100,” said Nydia R. Edgecombe, Director of the Office of Alumni Relations. “Ms. Marty is an Hostos student whose apartment was destroyed by fire on Thanksgiving Day.”
The reception also included the unveiling of the Circle of 100 Donor Recognition Scroll.
Since its creation in the Fall of 2006, the Hostos Circle of 100 has awarded eighteen $1,000 scholarships and fifty-eight $500 scholarships for emergency grants.
