HOSTOS PRESIDENT HONORED AT EL DIARIO LA PRENSA’
SIXTH ANNUAL EL AWARDS LUNCHEON
President Félix V. Matos Rodríguez was one of twenty-four honorees at El Diario La Prensa's Sixth Annual EL Awards luncheon held today in New York City. Along with the
award recipients, 100 other influential individuals were recognized at this event, which took place at the Grand Havana Room in New York City. Profiles of the awardees will appear in a special supplement to El Diario La Prensa’s Sunday edition of October 25, 2009.
Last August, President Mátos Rodríguez was honored as “Man of the Year” by the New York League of Puerto Rican Women, Inc. (NYLPRW).
He will receive the Guanin National Educator Award from the Dominican American National Roundtable during the organization’s twelfth national conference, to be held from Friday, December 4th to Sunday, December 6th, 2009 at the Coronado Springs Resort in Walt Disney World, Florida.

El Diario La Prensa Celebrates the Sixth Annual El Awards Luncheon
Recognizing Outstanding Latinos
(New York, NY, Oct. 21, 2009) – El Diario La Prensa recognizes the achievements of Latinos today at the Sixth Annual EL Awards luncheon. Twenty-four honorees along with 100 other influentials will celebrate at the exclusive Grand Havana Room in New York City. The recipients will be featured in a special supplement which will be available, in print, inside the paper’s Sunday edition on October 25, 2009. The supplement will also be available for viewing online at www.eldiariony.com.
Among the 2009 recipients are Latino Journalist and TV Host Geraldo Rivera; New York Supreme Court Judge Hon. Luis A. Gonzalez; Dr. Felix Matos Rodriguez, President of Hostos Community College, Latin Jazz artist and Grammy Nominee, Charlie Sepulveda, and CNN Hero and Director of “An Angel in Queens Foundation,” Jorge Muñoz.
