The Hostos Alumni Relations office was recognized for outstanding achievement in philanthropy at the first CUNY Philanthropy Forum held this past April 22st at the Graduate Center. Carlos Flynn, CUNY University Dean of Advancement, presented Nydia Edgecombe, Director of Alumni Relations at Hostos, with the CUNY Philanthropy Award and indicated that, “Hostos has excelled in their outreach and philanthropic efforts among faculty, staff and alumni.” Hostos was acknowledged for securing a steady stream of donations through their constant donor cultivation events and one-on-one relationship building tactics. City College, The Graduate Center, College of Staten Island, Baruch and Hunter College were also praised.
Aside from the award, Hostos’ Alumni Relations was included in the “A Fundraising Plan for Community Colleges-Innovative Community College Alumni Strategies” workshop.
