Eugenio María de Hostos Scholarship.
The Eugenio María de Hostos Scholars Program is designed to provide participants with the educational and professional background needed for leadership in their chosen field. The Program honors the Puerto Rican philosopher, educator and man of letters, Eugenio María de Hostos whose humanist vision is a guiding principle for our institution. The Program is made possible by the support of President Dolores M. Fernández and the Hostos Foundation.
Eugenio María de Hostos Scholars are selected from fully-admitted honors students on the basis of academic merit. Hostos Scholars continue in the Hostos Scholars Program until graduation, provided they meet semester-to-semester retention criteria:
- a grade of “A” or “B” in all classes
- a required 3.50 minimum semester grade point average
- satisfactory standing in the liberal arts Honors Program
