Technology Workshops for Students
The Division of Academic Affairs, through the Office of Instructional Technology, provides for a series of student workshops, designed to familiarize new students with the fundamentals of computer usage, word processing and the Internet. These workshops are possible due to the Tech fee and they are scheduled at the beginning of each semester so that students will be prepared to employ these skills to carry out their academic assignments soon after they arrive at the College. The technology workshops for students currently focus on the following topics:
- The Computing Environment & Windows at Hostos Community College
- MS Word
- MS Excel
- Internet
- Electronic Mail
- The Blackboard Environment at Hostos Community College
- MS Power Point
- Newspapers
- Turnitin
