Title V Project
This web page is the vehicle through which the Title V team shares the activities and progress of the different aspects of the project with the Hostos community. The goals and development of this project are very exciting, and we want to ensure that the college is informed of its many details. Please check back regularly for progress updates.Purpose
Hostos' Title V proposal was developed to improve retention and graduation, and to enrich the college experience for students. It is a collaborative project that aims to strengthen student learning. Over 5 years, the grant is allowing us to develop the following three components:
1. Learner, Educator, and Administrator Portal (LEAP System)
A comprehensive new information system that proactively links faculty and administrators with students' academic data and needs. To access the site, go to LEAP and log in with your Hostos ID and password.
2. Student Academic Enrichment
Student academic preparedness is addressed through the College Enrichment Academy program, a series of content-based summer, winter, and weekend college enrichment workshops and online tutorials. To access relevant sites, go to CEA and HALC.
3. Faculty Development Series
Now in its third cycle, a competitive faculty development program is in place under the guidance of COBI (the Committee on Beautiful Ideas). It provides stimulus, support and encouragement for curricular innovations led by faculty. To access the COBI site, go to the Committee On Beautiful Ideas.
