What's new
-
In the past, the Open lab operated with only one heavy-duty printer; as of October 12, 2005, the lab provides access to 3 printers.
-
The computers at the Open Lab are divided into three groups. Each computer group is connected to their own printer, which accelerates the printing process. If a problem were to arise with one of the printers, computers can be re-routed immediately to print in either one of the other two printers. All computers have the capability to select a different printer if the default printer happens to have a problem.
-
In December 2005, twenty-three computers were replaced with new computers with flat panel screens and an optical mouse.
-
In January 2006, twenty-six GX150 desktop computers were replaced with GX270. A fourth local printer was added to accelerate one to three pages word documents print out.
In December 2006, twenty-six GX270 and forty-six GX150 desktop computers were replaced with 70 new GX520.
-
In Summer of 2007, major construction was done. Lab C-595 and C-598 were combined and new network rewiring was done. New furniture (tables, chairs), a counter for Help Desk and tutors and 30 more computers were added. Lexmark Software was installed to the four printers to manage printing more efficiently.
- In October 2007, ten multimedia computers GX745 were installed with access to 10 cameras.
