Software
All stations run Windows XP. Students have access to all the software provided by the College. Some software, such as Windows, may run with certain restrictions. Since summer and January intersession are used to upgrade all software, Academic Departments wishing to install new software for teaching purpose in the ACC, must bring it to the center for installation to Marisa Rodriguez. Departments must provide all licensing permission and must be aware that server capability is also taken into consideration before installation is done. The ACC will not install special use software without conclusive proof that a valid license agreement exists for the requested software package. It is the responsibility of the person making the installation request to provide this proof and be responsible for any legal issues that may arise in connection with software installation or use.
A minimum of fifteen working days must be allowed to fulfill any special request. In the case that an instructor wishes to install new software in the computer designated for instructional purpose, a minimum of three days notice may be sufficient, but does not guaranteed installation. While every attempt will be made to accommodate reasonable special request, we may not be able to honor last minute emergency requests.
