Proposals:

This CFP invites submissions describing: (1) panels, (2) performances, (3) round-table discussions, (4) workshops, or (5) abstracts.

Proposals can address themes of: language, literature and linguistics; social sciences, cultural and ethnic studies; ethics and humanism; gender, race and class; sociology and psychology, or any other related field of study or academic discipline that can be related to the conference theme.

Submission Guidelines:

Proposal submissions are limited to one page. Each proposal must include contact information for the primary project director or abstract author: full name, title, institution/company, regular mail and electronic mail addresses, and phone number.

The postmark deadline is August 25, 2006. Electronic versions may be sent to sbrennan@hostos.cuny.edu. Hard copies may be sent to Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, The African Presence and Influence on the Cultures of the Americas, Hostos Community College, 500 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY 10451.

Notification of acceptance will be mailed by September 30, 2006.
