Bronx Educational Alliance (BEA)
The Bronx Educational Alliance links educational institutions, businesses, community-based organizations, and health-care agencies in a concerted, long-term effort designed to overcome the obstacles arrayed against the academic achievement of Bronx students. Formed in January 1992, the Alliance aims to ensure that these students are prepared for transitions between levels of schooling, and ultimately, for entrance into, and graduation from two-year and four-year colleges. The BEA represents a loosely coupled confederation of borough school/college partnerships. Partners are the Office of the Borough President, Community School Districts, Bronx High School Superintendent's Office, Health Care Agencies, Bronx Community College, Hostos Community College, and Lehman College.
