Hostos Community College offers an Associate in Science (AS) degree in Electrical Engineering (60 credits). This program is jointly registered, dual admission program with the existing Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering (B.E./EE) at the City College of New York (75 credits). The program has been designed to meet the licensure guidelines of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). The program will provide Hostos students with the same curriculum as the first two years of the licensure qualifying electrical engineering program required at CCNY.

Upon successful completion of the lower division at HCC, students will have a seamless transition to the upper division of the baccalaureate program at CCNY. The collegial nature of the program will facilitate the transition to the professional portion of the curriculum. Electrical Engineering Science students will be enrolled in the existing science and mathematics courses at Hostos and will enroll in the two engineering courses at CCNY. Students successfully completing the requirements of this program shall be eligible to receive an Associate in Science (A.S.) degree.

• Passing the CUNY tests in reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Passing MAT 160 Pre-calculus
• Passing the CUNY Proficiency Examination (CPE).
• Completed 16 CPI units required (see College Catalog).
• All first-time freshmen must take SSD 1000: "Critical Skills for the 21st Century."
