Mentoring Program

Hostos Faculty to Faculty Mentoring Program

The Hostos faculty to faculty mentoring program is being established to enhance the support network available to junior faculty. Seasoned faculty provide guidance and encouragement to maximize junior faculty's navigation through the fulfillment of requirements necessary to maintain active junior faculty status. A seasoned faculty mentor will be a resource to any junior faculty member within his/her department, and answer questions for faculty and staff inquiring about his/her department.

Goals
  1. To establish a network of seasoned faculty who provide information about his/her department to junior faculty within or outside of the department.
  2. To foster a supportive environment for new faculty and junior faculty to adjust and acclimate to the Hostos Community College culture.
  3. To provide professional development for seasoned faculty who will use their expertise to guide junior faculty toward excellence in teaching and tenure.
