CTL Brown Bag Lunch
The Center for Teaching and Learning Brown Bag Lunch was established to open informal dialogue among all faculty and staff across the disciplines and divisions; to entice the Hostos community into exploring and building professional relationships outside of individual departments. Any department can coordinate and run a brown bag lunch and there have been many purposes for which Brown Bag Lunches have run. Most of the Brown Bag Lunches are meant to be informal with no agenda or speaking presentations. However, very successful Brown Bag Lunches have explored academic topics under guidance of a faculty facilitator or a series of presentations for a particular purpose. Brown Bag Lunches have taken many forms from brainstorming sessions with potential COBI project developers to a late afternoon tea with the new college president to introduce him more intimately with the work of the Center for Teaching and Learning faculty and staff. Brown Bag Lunches are open to everyone and any department or faculty can organize and execute one.
