Program Background
Hostos Community College has identified three sources of
funding for its Hostos Emergency Loan Program (HELP), two from the private sector and
the other from our own Hostos Student Association. These student loans must be
paid back. The emergency loan applicant is required to complete a repayment
contract that is legally binding. The applicant's eligibility is based on the student's
unusual circumstances, documentation submitted to substantiate his/her emergency and the
student's potential to benefit from the award. The present loan programs are
self-sustaining, revolving funds generated through student loan collections and
repayments. |
