Special Programs

College Discovery (CD)

The College Discovery (CD) Program utilizes a personalized approach to providing support services to students who have high potential for success but have not had the necessary academic preparation to pursue college level work. As a member of the CD Program you will be supported from admissions to graduation. Our committed staff will help you achieve your full potential as a student and as an individual to discover, develop and apply your talents.

Key ASAP program features include a consolidated block schedule, cohorts by major, small class size, required full-time study and comprehensive advisement and career development services. Financial incentives include tuition waivers for financial aid eligible students and free use of textbooks and monthly MetroCards for all students.

CUNY Foster Care Support Programs and Initiatives
The City University of New York (CUNY) and the Central Office of Student Affairs (COSA) are committed to providing all of our students with the resources, services, and support they need to succeed in college. For CUNY students currently in foster care or who have a history in the foster care system, this mission couldn’t be more important. Despite significant challenges, these students remain focused on completing a college degree. CUNY & COSA are committed to helping these students achieve that goal. Supporting the success of our students in foster care or with history in foster care is a top priority for CUNY. Currently there are several initiatives that provide supportive pipelines into and through CUNY degree programs.
