The New York State budget passed on August 3, 2010 made the following changes to the TAP Program:
- Annual TAP awards have been reduced by $75.00 annually ($37.50 per semester).
- Independent students who are married with no tax dependents will have a new reduced award schedule.
- New academic progress standards have been established for the purpose of determining eligibility for State Student Aid.
- Private pension and annuity amounts excluded from New York income tax are to be included in the calculation of income used for determining TAP award eligibility.
Below is the new Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) chart guideline beginning the Spring 2011 semester. The changes are highlighted in red:
