POSITION:
ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
Allied Health Department - Dental Hygiene Unit
(Tenure Track Position for September 2002)
DUTIES: Provide instruction to dental hygiene students, as well as perform research, and guidance duties. Responsible for committee and departmental assignments. Perform administrative, supervisory, and other functions as may be assigned.
Faculty are also required to support the missions of the department, the college, and the university; participate in faculty meetings, student recruitment and advising, curriculum development, and other department activities; develop and maintain relationships with all program faculty; engage in research and other scholarly activities; participate in department, college, university, community, and professional service; use technology to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of instruction and the department; monitor and facilitate ethical and professional behaviors; serve as mentors, peer counselors, and as colleagues for teaching, research and other scholarly activities; and community clinical projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited Dental Hygiene program, Master's Degree in dental hygiene or other related discipline, three years of dental hygiene clinical experience including periodontal therapy, computer competency, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, successful experience with diverse populations, a commitment to diversity, a commitment to excellence in teaching and clinical skills. Prior teaching experience in dental assisting and dental hygiene programs is required. RDH/DDS preferred.
SALARY:
Assistant Professor $32,703 - $57,049
Associate Professor $42,616 - $68,174
(Commensurate with qualifications and experience.)
