POSITION:
Assistant/Associate Professor
Biology Unit
Division/Department: Natural Sciences
FLSA: Exempt
Duties:
Instruction of Biology courses; current offerings include Anatomy,
Physiology I and II, Microbiology, General Biology (for science majors) I
and II, and, for non-majors, Principles of Biology, Plants and Society, and
Organismic Biology. Course and curriculum development; research and
scholarly activities leading to professional growth; student guidance;
participation in departmental and college assignments; and other tasks
normally associated with a full-time teaching position. Evening/week-end
schedule may be required.
Qualifications:
Doctorate degree or an equivalent degree from an accredited university in
the discipline of biology. The candidate must have demonstrated evidence of
significant success as a teacher. In addition he/she must possess a record
of significant achievement in his/her field or profession. There must be
evidence of his//her continued growth and of continued effectiveness in
teaching. Teaching experience in an urban multi-ethnic setting is desirable.
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are advantageous.
Salary:
Assistant Professor: $35,031 - $61,111
Associate Professor: $45,651 - $73,028
(Depending on qualifications and work experience.)
