POSITION:  Assistant Professor - Department of Language & Cognition        




POSITION DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES

To teach all levels of a new content-based ESL curriculum, and linguistics courses including hybrid and online courses, participate in departmental and college assignments including positions of leadership; community services; student guidance; and scholarly activities leading to professional growth; and other tasks normally associated with a full time teaching position.

 



QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

For appointment as Assistant Professor, candidate must possess a minimum of an earned Ph.D. or Ed.D in Teaching English as a Second Language, Applied Linguistics, Bilingual Education, or a related field. Candidates should have experience teaching a diverse urban student population, and have expertise in helping students pass high-stakes tests in reading and writing. Experience using computer instruction, content-based instruction, and instruction at the adult or college level is preferred. Leadership skills are desirable, as well as the ability to conduct teacher-based research and other scholarly activities, including presentations and publications in scholarly conferences and journals.

 

 



SALARY:     Assistant Professor $38,801 - $61, 563

                       (Salary commensurate with educational background and  work experience)
