POSITION:               Assistant Professor of History



Duties:

The Department seeks an historian to teach, develop new curriculum, revise existing curriculum, contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives, and participate in the development of department and committee related planning and evaluation activities. The successful candidate will teach a variety of courses in American history, survey courses in world history and elective courses. The area of specialization is open. Evening/week-end schedule may be required.

 


Qualifications:

The candidate should have a doctorate in history or related discipline completed by the time of appointment. Candidates with interdisciplinary credentials will be considered. The successful candidate should demonstrate the capacity to teach a variety of undergraduate courses in the discipline, and the ability to effectively integrate writing in the learning process. S/he should have the capacity to make significant contributions both in their field and curriculum development. Successful experience and interest in teaching in a diverse multicultural urban undergraduate college preferred. Bilingual/bicultural skills advantageous.
 

 



Salary:           $35,031 - $61,111
                            FLSA: Exempt
